Our Project Misson
Our promise that your giving is doing – changing lives.
Our story is founded on community, hope, and a belief that everyone in WA should be able to experience a good death. LJM Memorial Hospice was established in 2018 by Kate McLaughlin. The charity was established to give back to the WA community after they had provided so much support to Kate and her husband Liam when he developed a brain tumour.
“Empathetic, humane and family-oriented not-for-profit hospice care for people of all demographics.” We know the impact that poor quality end of life care can have on the health of the patient as well as their family. Through our work, we intend to contribute to a more positive end of life experience for the WA community.
While we continue to build community support and raise money to build a hospice our objectives are: 1. To create space for people in the Yanchep area to have conversations about death, dying, grief and loss 2. To provide people in the Yanchep area with information about existing services for people who are living with a life-limiting condition, or are grieving 3. To engage with people in the Yanchep area who may be interested in improving people’s awareness and experience of end of life and palliative care 4. To identify people in the Yanchep area who may be interested in being more actively involved and who support the aims of the LJM Memorial Hospice group
